
Crafted from 18 karat yellow gold, this pair of ear clips were retailed by the famed Parisian jewellers, Cartier. The tubular 18 karat yellow gold ear clips comprise three straw like bars which have been mounted as a cluster and feature white gold clip fittings to the rear. The pair are hallmarked for manufacture by Cartier in Italy, however were likely retailed in Paris or New York. To each of the earring backs are a catalogue number '55584' and a small plaque 'Cartier', along with a mark indicating their gold purity as 18 karat and manufacture in Italy. The pair likely date to the 1970s and are in exceedingly good condition for their age, with only minor scratching and abrasion to the gold, commensurate with age and use. Complete with their original red Cartier retailing box, these ear clips would be an excellent addition to a gold lover's repertoire and are truly modernist in their design.
