Description
Mid century silver jewellery from Mexico has long been something we enjoy having in our cabinets and this necklace is no exception. Crafted from 950 purity silver and set with sleek plaques of sodalite, this necklace is what could be referred to as a collar. The modernist piece terminates with a simple tongue and box clasp which is working well and is secure. The reverse of the clasp is signed for manufacture in Mexico and also '950' for the purity of the silver, indicating it is crafted from 950 out of 1000 parts pure silver. There is also a mark 'TL-105' indicating it was made in Taxco by a silversmith whose last name starts with an L, and they were the 105th person in the Taxco region registered as a silversmith. A delightful piece of Mexican silver jewellery that has a great weight when worn, and would be right at home on a modern Millicent Rogers.
