A Meissen, porcelain Prunkvase urn, circa the 1880s, designed by Ernst August Leuteritz in the 1860s, converted to a table lamp. Leuteritz was inspired by Italian vases of the late Renaissance, references of which can be seen in the elaborate acanthus leaf flourishes to the handles. Standing at 63cm tall without the added shade, this lamp certainly commands attention. Signed under the added timber lamp base.
This piece is in wonderful antique condition with no signs of chips or cracks. There is evidence of gilding which has since worn off leaving attractive remnants of its original design.
Dimensions: 63cm H (top of the vase) x 33.5cm W (handle to handle)
