Our managing director, Christopher Hughes, steps into leadership within the Australian Antique and Art Dealers Association (AAADA), serving as state president and national vice president. The AAADA is a respected peak body that ensures transparency and ethics in the antiques market. This leadership role reflects our commitment to upholding high standards of integrity, as we continue to educate and build trust with collectors.
With growing trade and stock levels, we have made the decision to expand into a second CBD location in a heritage building on Charlotte Street, housing our ever-expanding array of antiques, jewellery and design. We use this larger location to host art exhibits, events and lectures to engage the local public of antique enthusiasts.
In the midst of a rapidly changing world, The Antique Guild embraces a new direction with the purchase of our own premises in Albion, QLD. We relocate our growing collection to this larger showroom and warehouse space, strategically dividing our stock between our city location (focused on decorative arts and smalls) and our Albion warehouse (home to larger furniture pieces). We bid farewell to our original location at Stamford Plaza, marking the next stage of growth for the Guild.
With a shift in our business, we close the doors on our Charlotte Street store and evolve our Brisbane CBD flagship into a more refined and specialised space. This new hub places us alongside some of the finest dealers in fashion, jewellery, and design. Located just steps from Queen Street Mall, we focus on showcasing the best in research, highly desirable jewellery, decorative arts, and paintings — a treasure trove for the discerning collector.
