Majolica Bacchus Urn by Minton

A baluster urn form vase by Minton, with three satyr masks moulded and applied around the body, between pendants of grape bunches, marks for 1870. Glazed in a robin's egg blue ground, with yellow and white details, with naturalistic colours for the appliques. This design was in production from at least 1865 and was produced in a variety of glazes.

Dimensions: 33cm H x 24cm D

Condition: High quality restoration performed May 2025 (moulded and replaced one bunch of grapes, repaired the section where the vase meets the stand which was extremely chipped all the way around). A number of hairline fractures throughout.
