This rather charming small 'silhouette' format portrait likely dates to the second half of the 19th Century. Painted on canvas the oil painting depicts a Victorian lady wearing a bonnet and a lace collar on her black blouse. The picture is unsigned however is likely English in origin and is complemented by its original simple gilt timber frame. The piece was professionally cleaned and re touched by an Italian art conservator in 2020 meaning it is ready to be hung with a cluster of other pictures or singly in a narrow spot.
