It doesn't get much sweeter than this ditty little Victorian brooch from the late 19th century. The brooch is crafted from 14 karat yellow gold and is silver topped, a standard combination for the period. The pin is set with 38 rose cut diamonds which are mounted within the number 1894, indicating the year of its manufacture. Was this a gift for a bridesmaid in 1894, or perhaps a twenty first birthday present? We will probably never know. What is for certain is that the piece is beautifully crafted and shows very little signs of wear or use, with the pin and hook clasp still working and secure 130 years after it was manufactured. An absolutely darling little brooch pin for someone who appreciates antique diamond jewellery, and a suitable pin for a man to wear on a dinner jacket lapel.
