1940s Ruby & Diamond Brooch by Tiffany & Co

This exceedingly beautiful Retro period brooch was made by Tiffany and Company most likely in the 1940s. The piece has been rendered to copy the flow of a piece of ribbon and was made from 14 karat yellow gold before being set with rubies and diamonds. The brilliant and single cut diamonds in the piece are each of G colour and SI clarity and total 0.27 carat. The natural rubies total 11 pieces and are a deep pink colour totalling 0.55 carat. The piece terminates with a hinged yellow gold pin and 'C' type closure with safety catch which is working well and is secure. Quality Retro period jewellery is difficult to find largely due to the period of manufacture being short and it overlapping with World War Two when the vast majority of people were unable to spend on luxuries like jewellery. The piece is in exceedingly good condition with no apparent areas of note and would be incredibly beautiful if pinned to a simple coat lapel or to hold a cashmere scarf in place over a dress.
