A gorgeous 19th century oil on canvas reproduction of Andrea del Sarto’s “Madonna delle Arpie”. Andrea del Sarto (1487-1530) was an Italian painter from Florence, who was famed as an artist ‘senza erorri’ (without error). Andrea del Sarto became one of the most successful artists of the High Renaissance, yet his work was overshadowed by that of his contemporaries Leonardo da Vinci, Michelangelo, and Raphael.
This piece was painted and signed by Rodelfo Paoletti (1824-1891), an Italian artist who amongst his original work, produced extremely accurate reproductions throughout the 19th century.
