This ring was manufactured in France for Cartier and is known as the 'Jeton Sauvage' design. Crafted from 18 karat yellow gold the highly polished domed 'bombe' style ring is complete with its original box, outer box and authenticity papers. This ring was originally purchased in January 2004 according to the certificate, however this particular design was largely produced by Cartier in the 1990s. The ring is fully hallmarked to the inside of the shank with a serial number matching that of the certificate, and is also marked to the outside with French gold marks, including the maker's mark for the particular goldsmith who crafted the piece. It is not uncommon for large jewellery houses such as Cartier and Van Cleef & Arpels to outsource manufacture to smaller makers and then simply retail the piece under the maison's name. In this instance the maker's mark is unfortunately slightly rubbed and illegible. In lovely condition, the ring shows minor wear in the form of slight surface scratches, but otherwise is in very good order. A beautiful and scarce design which Cartier enthusiasts are sure to adore.
