This sculpted rams head ring has been crafted from 18 karat yellow gold and is set with rubies. Manufactured by the leading Greek jeweller Ilias Lalaounis, the piece is crafted in the Etruscan Revival taste which his workshop is widely known for. The ring presents as a rams head which wraps around the finger and features two round cut ruby eyes and three bezel set round cut rubies trailing down the back of the neck. The ring is fully signed for manufacture by Lalaounis in Greece and whilst not a true antique, probably was manufactured within the last 40 or 50 years. Famous patrons of Lalaounis include Jacqueline Kennedy Onassis and Elizabeth Taylor, with the former having several pairs of Lalaounis earrings including a pair crafted to celebrate the moon landing in 1969. This ring only has the ability to be resized slightly without altering the overall appearance of the piece. In lovely vintage condition this ring would be a beautiful addition to a summer outfit while exploring the Greek Isles.
