A beautifully crafted 'tank' bracelet in 18 karat gold from the 'Retro' period. The piece is crafted from geometric hollow bars which are connected to form a bracelet, which gets its name from its likeness to the treads on military tanks. Tank bracelets were popular in the Art Deco and Retro periods of the 20th century and are often Continental in origin. The way they are crafted is quite a mystery, because no pins are visible, which allows the design to appear quite seamless. This bracelet in 18 karat gold features a box clasp with two figure of 8 safety catches, and is in lovely condition with only some minor abrasions and slight knocks, all commensurate with age.
