This tricolour 18 karat gold 'Trinity' ring was made by Cartier under their diffusion label 'Les Must de Cartier'. First produced by Cartier in 1924, the Trinity ring is said to have been first made for Jean Cocteau by Louis Cartier as Cocteau wanted a jewel inspired by the rings around the planet Saturn. Since its creation the design has been worn by the likes of The Duke of Windsor, Diana Princess of Wales & Grace Kelly. During the 1980s and 1990s Cartier produced Trinity rings under the 'Les Must de Cartier' diffusion label and that allows us to date this particular ring to the period due to the markings. Sometimes referred to as a Russian wedding ring, this is a piece that is undoubtedly a cult classic and definitely easy to wear.
