Each is assessed for authenticity and period before entering the collection.

Assessment depends on the type of object — hallmarks for metalwork, factory marks for ceramics, construction method for woodwork — but the consistent approach across all pieces is an examination of period-appropriate materials, construction, and design vocabulary alongside any documentation or marks that accompany the piece.

In most cases, yes. We can advise on the appropriate scope of any repair and recommend trusted specialists for the relevant material. We document any restoration that has been carried out on pieces in the collection and will always disclose this before purchase.

Care requirements vary by material — we recommend consulting us at the time of purchase for specific guidance. As a general rule, keep pieces away from direct sunlight, heat sources, and humidity fluctuation. Dust regularly with a soft brush. Avoid cleaning products that have not been specifically recommended for the material of the piece.
