Collection: Signé et remarquable

To be included, a piece must carry a verifiable attribution to a named maker, jewellery house, design studio, or workshop of recognised historical significance. This attribution must be supported by physical evidence — a signature, cartouche, hallmark sequence, or construction method specific to that maker — and, where appropriate, by external specialist assessment. We do not include pieces in this collection on the basis of style alone.

Attribution is verified through a combination of physical examination, reference to maker records and hallmarking databases, and — for significant attributions — consultation with external specialists. We document our assessment and note the basis of any attribution clearly in the item description. Where an attribution is probable rather than certain, we say so.

Generally, yes — though the extent of that premium depends on the maker, the period, the rarity of the piece, and the current
market. More importantly, a signed piece offers a level of documentation and story that an unsigned equivalent cannot. For
collectors, that provenance is often as valuable as the premium itself.

The care requirements for signed pieces are the same as for any antique jewellery of the relevant material and construction. We provide specific care guidance for every piece at the time of sale, and are always happy to answer questions about care and maintenance after purchase.
