This charming 18th century serving spoon was made in Dublin from sterling silver during the reign of England's King George III. The elegant fluted bowl of the spoon is accented with a handle that almost forms a scroll to the very end. The reverse of the handle features worn but still legible hallmarks for manufacture in Dublin by silversmith Michael Keating. Specialising in flatware, Keating worked between 1762 and 1800, with this piece hallmarked for 1792. The piece presents in very good antique condition with a very minor bend to the handle, commensurate with age and use. A delightful serving spoon which would be perfect on a Christmas table or could be a beautiful housewarming gift for someone who appreciates nice things.
